Data Excellence & Decarbonization

In 2024, Kraton started its Data Excellence project. This project, being of strategic importance for Kraton, had a three-fold purpose:

To improve Kraton’s sustainability and ESG data quality and develop integrated data management processes, including ESG data automation.
To review Kraton’s decarbonization target and develop new scenarios and business cases to set new potential decarbonization targets for 2030 and 2032.
To improve Kraton GHG reporting practices and sustainability and ESG reporting capabilities.

We addressed these challenges by forming a cross-functional core project team represented by Kraton Sustainability, Operations, Procurement, and IT. Next to the core project team, the organizational-wide engagement of internal stakeholders (Engineering, Financial, Marketing departments, Kraton’s Sustainability Task Forces, and Kraton’s Sustainability Council) has been continuously managed through the execution of the project.

Part of our decarbonization framework includes Decarbonization Target Management, Renewable Electricity Strategy, Scope 3 emissions, and ESG Data Management and Automation.
